Patterns

What is a pdf sewing pattern and how do I use one?


A PDF sewing pattern is an electronic version of a sewing pattern which you can download and print on your home printer. You will need a PDF reader (such as Adobe Reader) to open the files. Yuzu and Pear patterns are generally tiled over 7″ by 10″ areas. This mean that you can safely print most of our patterns on A4 or letter sized paper. Please ensure that your printer settings are set to 100%, NO SCALING or ACTUAL SIZE. You should also check against the 4cm and 1” test squares on the pattern to ensure the pattern has been printed in the intended size before cutting your fabric. Once you have printed all the pattern sheets, you will need to assembly the pattern pieces by sticking them together. Instructions on how to do so are provided in each pattern. If you have any trouble printing or assembling your pattern, please contact us at admin@yuzuandpear.com and we will do our best to assist you.




How will I receive my sewing pattern(s)?


Once payment is confirmed, you will be returned to our website where there will be a download link to access your pattern files. You will also receive an email (to the address entered at checkout) with a link to download your pattern. If you don’t receive your download or are unable to access the link, please contact us at admin@yuzuandpear.com and we will work on it asap!




Does the download link expire? Is there a limit to the number of time I can access the download link?


The link to the pattern does not expire. There is also no limit to the number of time you can access the download link. It is, however, recommended that you save your pattern once it’s downloaded to prevent loss of files. If for whatever reason you cannot access the pattern files, please contact us at admin@yuzuandpear.com so we can address the problem for you quickly.




How do I choose the correct size?


We provide the measurements of the completed garment for each size on the website as well as in the pattern. You can refer to the size chart to select the size that you fits you best.




Can I share photos of items I made using your pattern(s)?


Yes! We love to see finished creations by our customers! In fact, you will stand a chance to win new Yuzu and Pear patterns or discount code to our patterns, when you share your creations made using Yuzu and Pear patterns on social media. You can share your creations by tagging us on Facebook and Instagram (@yuzuandpear or #yuzuandpear) or you can send us your photos at email your photo to us admin@yuzuandpear.com.




Can I sell the creations made using your pattern(s)?


The pattern is authorised for use by home sewers and business owners producing small quantities for resale. If you do use this pattern to produce items for sale, we would appreciate if you could give credit for the pattern, e.g. by writing “Pattern design by Yuzu and Pear”, and notify us at admin@yuzuandpear.com prior to selling the products. Thank you!




I do not like the finished creation using your pattern/ I do not have time to use the pattern after purchasing it. Can I get a refund?


We will not be able to refund your purchase once payment is made. We will, however, be pleased to work with you to address any issues that you may face when sewing using our patterns.





Workshops

How can I register for sewing workshops by Yuzu and Pear?


You can sign up through our online portal, or contact us at admin@yuzuandpear.com or via Facebook or Instagram to sign up for our workshops.




I am a total beginner. Can I sign up for your workshops?


We welcome total beginners. We have a good teacher-student ratio for our classes, so you can be assured that you will receive sufficient attention during the class.




Do I need to bring my own machines or fabrics?


Our workshop venues are equipped with sewing machines and overlocking machines. That said, you are more than welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer to do so. We will specify whether fabrics are provided in each workshop listing. Fabrics are generally provided for our single session “Sewing Knits” workshops. For our longer workshops, you may need to bring your own fabrics.




I am unable to make it for the session after payment. Can I get a refund?


We will not be able to refund your purchase once payment is made. We will seek to arrange for you to attend the workshop on a different date. However, should you fail to attend the workshop that is re-scheduled at a mutually agreeable date, we will not be able to entertain further re-scheduling.




I am unable to make it for the session, can I arrange for my friend to take my slot?


Yes. However, in the event that the fabric size and colour have been selected, we will not be able to accommodate changes to the selection less than 3 days prior to the starting date of the workshop.




I love the garment made in class and want to make more of that in different sizes. Will I receive the pattern for the garment made in class?


Yes. A soft copy of the pattern will be emailed to you after the class so that you can make more garments at your own leisure!
